Boston, MA: AOA Dx is proud to announce the company has won the Life Science award, the People’s Choice Award, and the Robert J. Crowley award at the Massachusetts Innovation Network’ signature innovation competition, The Eddies. The Robert J. Crowley award honors those embodying the values of breakthrough thinking, passion to improve lives and unwavering commitment to the spirit of advancement.
The Eddies (formerly known as NE Innovation Awards) is the oldest and longest running innovation competition in New England. They are open to New England based startups with a working prototype of a ground-breaking product or technology and not more than 150 employees. The objective of this program is to help early-stage startups (pre-Series C) take the next steps in their commercialization journey.
“We are so incredibly honored to win this prestigious award. We have learned so much throughout our time in this program and appreciate everyone who has supported us on our journey to creating a brighter future for ovarian cancer patients.” said Oriana Papin-Zoghbi, Co-Founder and CEO of AOA Dx.
The competition started with nearly 100 startups throughout and 18 teams advanced to the finals. The Massachusetts Innovation Network’s program provides teams with bespoke mentorship, leadership education, and hands-on support to propel them forward to help scale and commercialize.
“When we started working with AOA Dx during the 20-weeks of mentoring we provide our finalists with, it became apparent to us that this was a special team. Not only was the technology cutting-edge, but Oriana Papin-Zoghbi had all the traits of a true leader. Her vision was apparent and clearly communicated; her passion and superb story telling appealed not only to women that might benefit from the product, but a multitude of affinity groups who felt equally passionate to help her and her team achieve their goals. She was always positive, humble, flexible and extremely coachable; we rarely see all these traits developed to the extent Oriana displayed them. We have been honored to work with her, and have become staunch admirers of her work” said Sophia Kambanis, Executive Director at Massachusetts Innovation Network.
